to confirm your attendance by Wednesay 8 September. All are welcome! Well done to the juniors that were involved in some time trials for their respective development squads over the weekend. Tom( 15.07) and Wade (13.40) both had a 1km swim tt in the morning. Less than 5 hrs latern they had to back up for a 5km track time trial, where Tom finished in 17.27 (under 3.30mins per km pace) and Wade ran a sizzling 16.11 (under 3.14 mins per km pace). Claire Eastwood swam 800m in 12.10, and had to run 3km, which Claire finished in 12.20. All 3 have shown dedication to their training, despite school work and other athletic commitments. At this stage all the signs indicate a lot of improvement and therefore a fantastic season ahead. Ben Franzi ran 21.50 for the 6.25km, and Rohan Day ran 22.20 at the AV relay at Sandown. Well done to both. Laura Buckley had a hit out over a very tough 16km at Kew Boulevard finishing in around 1.17. PowerBar Athlete of the Month - August 2010
Congratulations to Michelle Easton who is the first PowerBar Athlete of the Month for the 2010 - 2011 season. Michelle joined TRG in December 2009, with her focus being sprint distance triathlon, but with her sights set on longer distance events. Since the end of the 2009 - 2010 season, Michelle has stepped up her committment to training and concentrated on her running, posting some impressive results during the winter running season so far. Michelle has really made an effort to involve herself in all aspects of the squad, and has enjoyed training and socialising with the other members of TRG. It will be great to see Michelle's hard work paying off during the season! Well done, Michelle!
TRG Annual Training Camp Well done to all athletes who attended the training camp over the weekend. It was a great weekend full of training and lots of laughs! What impressed the coach most was the way people were so professional in their training, from their preparation before a session, their readiness to be where they needed to be on time, diligence with nutrition, etc. It is also great to see the encouragement and support shown to one another on a tough weekend. Please see the Athlete's Reports section for an anonymous review of the 2010 Camp! |
